I’ve been notswift for a long, long time.

About a decade ago, I claimed the monicker ‘notswift’ for my email address not yet even discovering who He was who truly and eternally loves me.

A series of peculiar events led me to step outside of everything I knew to be truth. All that I had built my ’self’ upon crumbled before my eyes. The rubble held no comfort for me. In this act of mercy, true love alone stood. His name is, Jesus.

Now, here i am. And, willing to share with you my testimony - both for the believer and the scoffer.

Not’s interests are in general following the Way in all things - not always successful in this endearvor, but, eager to make application of the Truth in all areas of life including music; ministering; reading; biking; bicycling; traveling; tinkering; consuming.
The interest in playing and less in listening to music is not necessarily in this order: Noisy Christian stuff; nice Christian stuff; quiet Christian stuff; noisy stuff; nice stuff; quiet stuff; stuff.
Movies which were found to be not too boring, but, not necessarily profitable to view .. yet, entertaining are Christmas Vacation; Up In Smoke; Nice Dreams; Jesus Christ Superstar; Luther; Night of the Living Dead; Texas Chainsaw Massacre; Naked Gun all of em; Shreks; War of the Worlds all of em; Eraserhead; Clint Eastwoods; Arnolds; Taxi Driver; It Came From Outer Space; Frankenstein; Abbot n Costello; Jerry Lewis; Goldie Hawn… hmmm.. as it is, this is not such a good list. Good thing i don’t watch movies too often!
Television - - - i like it best when it is off.
Books worth a read and again and again are the Bible; Pilgrims Progress; The Four Loves; Christianity In Crisis; What If The Bible Had Never Been Written; The Screwtape Letters; The Return of the Prodigal Son; Paradise Lost, Paradise Regained; Reaching For the Invisible God.
My hero is Jesus Christ.

In a nutshell -
About me:
typical mass consumer who likes to make noise n call it music; eagerly engages in conversations concerning Christ, the cross, the way to blessed assurance.
Who I’d like to meet (and firmly anticipate doing so one day):
Jesus Christ, my unborn children, John the Baptist, Adam n Eve, Albert Einstein, Daniel Boone, Jimmy Hendrix, Jimmy Page, my great grandfathers, Goldie Hawne, George Washington, Santa Claus, Eric Clapton, John Bonham, Bathsheba, Paul (formerly known as Saul), Rachael Welch, C.S. Lewis, Paul Bunyon, John Lennon, Christopher Columbus, Pee Wee Herman, Samson and Delilah, George Bush, Larry Curly Mo and Shemp, Abraham and Sarah, everyone whose prayer and sacrifice made a way for my salvation… ..this list, some might observe, seems to be occupied by those whose lives might not have exhibited the light of Christ in their words and actions. .. true.. but, it is the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep and He alone separates the goats from His flock. Far be it from me to be able to see what He alone can see…. the true heart of a person’s soul.
